Wound Care (Skin Integrity - Pressure Injury) by Sandra Higelin
Upon completion of this workshop participants will be able to discuss skin integrity/pressure ulcer management utilizing Evidence Based Practice per National Pressure Injury Advisory Panel(NPIAP), standards of care, guidelines, policies and procedures, and government regulations. Participants will also be able to discuss the most recent definitions per NPIAP guidelines including staging, deep tissue injury(DTI), avoidable vs unavoidable pressure injures. Define the 8 elements of pressure injury prevention/management, identify the factors leading to litigation and legal care practices.
Please Note: Students who arrive after the 15 minute grace period will NOT be allowed to attend the course. Professional attire/scrubs are expected to be worn when attending any Flex Ed course.
