ED Triage: 5 Level Triage
This course for ED and emergency personnel reviews the Emergency Severity Index 5 level system. This comprehensive triage class covers all details of the Emergency Severity Index (ESI)—a five-level emergency department triage system that provides clinically relevant stratification of patients into five groups from 1 (most urgent) to 5 (least urgent) on the basis of acuity and resource needs. Students are required to go to the ENA website and download the free ESI algorithm workbook prior to class. They will utilize the workbook as they go through the class to develop a complete understanding of utilizing the triage process.
Please Note: Students who arrive after the 15 minute grace period will NOT be allowed to attend the course. Professional attire/scrubs are expected to be worn when attending any Flex Ed course.
