Primary Stroke Center Training - ICU/ED
This course is for St. Rose Employees only. The course covers what it means to be a PSC, Code White education and inpatient education, stroke signs & symptoms, pathophysiology care of hemorrhagic/ischemic, stroke scales, order sets, clinical pathway, policies, performance improvement measures and benchmarks. TPA administration, complications, documentation, swallow screen, stroke measures - all 10. Also covers lumbar drains, EVD's and critical care complications. Note: Clinical ancillary staff are encouraged to attend.
PRE-REQUISITE for the course is taking the NIH Stroke Scale on-line class. 3 CEU’s are given for this class. Go to

to take the class. Please bring your certificate of completion to the Stroke Center Training Class. An additional handout is available from your unit educator to supplement your on-line learning experience.
Please Note: Students who arrive after the 15 minute grace period will NOT be allowed to attend the course.
Professional attire/scrubs are expected to be worn when attending any Flex Ed course.
