Violence Prevention & De-Escalation Skills Validation

Prior to attending the skills validation session:
1. Complete the Violence Prevention & De-Escalation Part-1 online course and examination- NO MORE THAN 90 DAYS PRIOR TO SKILLS VALIDATION SESSION.
2. The online portion can be found at www.flexed.com. Choose Self-study/then CA/then Violence Prevention & De-escalation-Part 1 Online Module.
3. Once completed, enroll in Violence Prevention & De-escalation Skills Validation. Student must be pre-enrolled in order to attend skills validation - walk-ins will not be admitted.
This program teaches the healthcare professionals about the crisis cycle, therapeutic considerations, strategies for personal safety as well as effective techniques for the prevention of escalation. The course also covers patient rights and documentation basics. The Live skills portion will allow time for practice of De-Escalation techniques, as well as personal safety maneuvers and team take down skills. This course meets the educational requirements for AB508 and SB1299.

5 CEs will be awarded when both the online module and two-hour skills validation has been completed.


Please Note: Students who arrive after the 15 minute grace period will NOT be allowed to attend the course. Professional attire/scrubs are expected to be worn when attending any Flex Ed course.
