Palliative Care
This course reviews the care of the patient with serious, complex illnesses with the goal of preventing and relieving suffering and improving the quality of life. Maximized quality of life and relief of suffering is accomplished through control of symptoms and conservation of functional capacity, while remaining sensitive to the patient's cultural and religious beliefs and practices. This course is designed for Hospitals who provide care to chronically ill patients and their families. Self-examination and expression of participant's views and attitudes will be encouraged.
Please Note: Students who arrive after the 15 minute grace period will NOT be allowed to attend the course.
Professional attire/scrubs are expected to be worn when attending any Flex Ed course.
